Don't be hesitant to spray water to the myou-ou statue, which is a traditional offering to show your respect here in the temple.

Hozenji Temple is located in Namba, Osaka - walking distance from Namba station. This is a old and small ancient Japanese shrine to visit for blessing of good luck... Not really difficult to find and you have to navigate inside the alleys from the main road and nestled within the Ebisu bashi and Namba Centre shopping

A small interesting temple in the middle of the shopping street. What's interesting is that the statue is fully covered with moss. When praying simply bath the 3 statues with water, there is a place beside it to wash before praying as usual too.

At first we thought the shrine was inside the fenced area which was closed on the first day we arrived so we didn't get to see it that day. It was raining so we didn't go further in. The shrine is actually is further in; behind the frenced wall area if you coming from the back way, Sennichimae street. It is entrance is a lot easier to find if you coming from the train station. The street leads directly from the station, striaght pass 'Daiso' to the main shrine entrance at the end (the road intersection).

This is a small neighborhood Buddhist temple that is located at a side street from a shopping arcade. It features a moss-covered green Buddha and two equally moss-covered columns and flowers, in which you can water them by scooping water from the stone bowl. They offer a wooden plate at 300 yen to write your blessings and hang them out. It is a peaceful temple to enjoy a quiet moment with yourself, but the heat and humidity made it unpleasant to stay longer. I would suggest to visit in any other season than Summer.

Such a nice surprise nestled amidst the vibrant and sometimes overwhelming streets. A beautiful reminder to be grounded
