★ ★ ★ ★ ★ オペラシティや新国立劇場などが建ち、近代的な街に生まれ変わった初台だが。一歩小さな通りを入ると古い商店街が残っている、不動通りと呼ばれる昭和の残り香を感じる商店街が不動尊の参道であった。不動尊は仏教の信仰対象であるので、鳥居はない。二本の石柱の間を通り境内に入る。想像よりは大きな境内である。木々は少なく明るい印象だ。意外と言っては失礼だが、荘厳な感じがする。
不動尊は、もともと仏教で信仰されており、大日如来の化身であると見なされている。ここの不動明王像は延享4年（1747年）に多摩郡宅部村（現在の東村山市）三光院から荘厳寺に移されてきたらしい。
 Hatsudai has been reborn as a modern city with the construction of Opera City and the New National Theatre. When you enter a small street one step, the old shopping street remains, and the shopping street called Fudo-dori, where you can feel the remnants of the Showa era, was the approach to Fudoson. Fudoson is a Buddhist object of worship, so there is no torii gate. Pass between the two stone pillars and enter the precincts. The precincts are bigger than you can imagine. The trees are few and bright. Surprisingly rude, but it feels solemn.
Fudoson was originally worshiped in Buddhism and is considered to be an incarnation of Dainichi Nyorai. It seems that the statue of Fudo Myo here was moved from Sanko-in Temple in Yakebe-mura, Tama-gun (currently Higashimurayama City) to Soko-ji Temple in 1747.
