寛文年間	家の一角に茶店を設けて、白餅と焼菓子を供することからはじまる。
元禄2年	創業三河国知立市八ッ橋村の寺の僧から八ッ橋の製造の秘伝を授けられ、その後、聖護院の森は熊野神社門前にて八ッ橋屋梅林茶店を開く。
文政7年	八ッ橋屋為治郎が熊野神社に祈願成就の御礼に白馬の絵馬を奉納。
明治29年	八ツ橋中興の祖、12代為治が国内外の博覧会に出品し数々の入賞を果たす。
明治38年	京都駅の前身である七条駅で立ち売りを始め評判を得る。京名菓八ッ橋の名を全国に広げ、陸海軍より日露戦争の携帯食として注文を受ける。
昭和3年	天皇御大典と天覧ならびに多数のお買い上げを賜わる。
昭和18年	第二次世界対戦勃発により企業合同を強いられる。
昭和27年	個人商店から会社組織へ改組。再びのれんをあげる。
昭和34年	本家八ッ橋西尾株式会社を設立。
昭和44年	京都府より百年以上の老舗として蜷川知事より表彰される。

安	安堂つかさ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 普通は京都みやげといえば「おたべ」が定番だと思うんですが、私は本家西尾八ッ橋の八つ橋まんじゅうの「おまん」をおすすめします。商品名は「下ネタなんじゃ……」と思っちゃうのですが、実際に食べてみるとおいしくて、下ネタとか思ってスマンと謝りたくなります。全体的にもっちりしていて、中に入っているあんことの相性も抜群。京都が初めての知人にはとりあえず「おまん」を勧めています。 Usually, when it comes to Kyoto souvenirs, "Otabe" is the standard, but I recommend "Oman" from Yatsuhashi Manju, the head family of Nishio Yatsuhashi. I think the product name is "It's a lower story ...", but when I actually eat it, it's delicious and I want to apologize for it. It's solid overall, and it goes great with the sauce inside. For the time being, I recommend "Oman" to acquaintances who are new to Kyoto.
茶	茶々丸 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★この店舗は2021年2月7日まで臨時休業されています。西尾の八つ橋、いろんな味が楽しめて、試食もできて、京都に越してきてから用があれば京都駅の西尾さんでお世話になりました。一度、その店で欲しい味がなかったとき、男性店員さんが駅の反対側の方まで工面しにいく、と言ってくださいました。たった250円の八つ橋1つで、です。実家の知り合いにあげたかったので、お心遣いとても嬉しかったです。箱入りの物で似たものがあったのでそれを選びました。それから入り用があれば西尾さん、と決めていてるのですが、このコロナ禍で京都駅の店舗は閉鎖。となりの土産店に行くも、ほとんどなく。バナナチョコを買いました。そこで本日、新京極店に行ったら休業でした。その店員さんや気前のいい試食でお世話になりましたし、季節の商品で楽しませてもらいました。次は本店の方に行かせていただきます！西尾さんの社訓も素晴らしいので（京都と思えない）、興味のある方は読まれてみてください。 ★ This store will be temporarily closed until February 7, 2021. I bought a banana chocolate. So today, when I went to the Shinkyogoku store, it was closed. I was taken care of by the clerk and the generous tasting, and I enjoyed the seasonal products. m	mayu m_ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 西尾さんの八ツ橋が好きなのと、たくさんある店舗の中でこちらが一番お気に入りです。品揃えもいいし、混雑してても丁寧。店頭にいる聞き上手で親切なおば様に癒されてます。一時期通いすぎて「京都に越されてきたんですか？」と言われました。笑八ツ橋クランチチョコは(特にプレーン)コーヒーにも合います(^^) 日持ちするのでこちらも是非。 I like Mr. Nishio's Yatsuhashi, and this is my favorite among the many stores. The product lineup is good, and it is polite even if it is crowded. Healed by a good listener and kind lady at the store. I went too much for a while and was asked, "Did you come to Kyoto?" Lol Yatsuhashi crunch chocolate goes well with (especially plain) coffee (^^) It will last for a long time, so be sure to check it out.
I	Iceman 2019 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 售賣京都名物生八橋, 有多種口味, 喜歡這家, 覺得它的外皮較軟滑Q彈, 餡比起别家沒那麼死甜。如不是送禮, 可買散裝, 品質一樣, 價錢較平, 只是沒有包裝的紙盒。 It sells Kyoto's famous Yatsuhashi. There are many flavors. I like this one. I think its skin is softer and more elastic, and the filling is not so sweet compared to other stores. If it is not a gift, you can buy it in bulk, the quality is the same, the price is relatively low, but the carton without packaging.

Y	Yuri Okada on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Adorable confection shop with lovely staff! They tend to the needs of their customers and even have time for a brief chat if you can speak basic Japanese. Especially the older lady is wonderful. Not just another tourist trap but a store where you can feel heartfelt hospitality. They offer a broad variety of yatsuhashi (folded rice dough with sweet fillig), which is a must-try when in Kyoto! Besides classical Japanese flavours like green tea they also have seasonal specials like mango, orange, green apple... Try cinnamon and chocolate flavour if you’re new to Japanese confection. The only downside is that yatsuhashi is hand-made and will only stay fresh for one week, so go there right before you leave Kyoto. Other than that they also sell konpeito and other candy which stay fresh for a long time and makes a perfect gift. You can buy yatsuhashi everywhere but only at this shop the staff will be so kind and smiling and offer many different flavours!

The most popular sweet I saw was Yatsuhashi, which is essentially mochi filled with a type of sweet bean paste. It didn't sound appetizing. I then tried it. I loved it. Yatsuhashi is now one of my favorite sweets in Japan, and a must have whenever I'm in Kyoto. The chocolate, strawberry, plum, and lemon Yatsuhashi are just great. This specific sweet is popular in Kyoto, and a bit difficult to find outside Kyoto. If you have the chance, go in and ask for the Ichigo Yatsuhashi (strawberry flavour), it's great!
