ひたちなか市内に整備された約280（2019年現在）の公園のうち、ここ勝田第一中学区にある53の公園のうちのひとつ。
市内に設置された街区公園のうち、大島公園、六ツ野公園、中根上野公園と並ぶとても立派な公園で、コンビネーション遊具、大きな広場、遊歩道と園内林に加え、駐車場とトイレも完備しています。
公園南側にある駐車場は防犯上、深夜から早朝は施錠されているようですので、駐車の際はご注意ください。
