R	Rufus Starbuck on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great onsen just off the main road. Buy a ticket from the vending machine and head into the locker room to change. Lot of showers for your pre-onsen wash and a large bath inside. Head outside for the rotemburo (though there is a tall block of apartments on the either side of the road that must get a pretty interesting view of the baths!). There is also a jacuzzi with herbs in, an onsen water shower coming out of bamboo pipes, a cold water bath and a salt sauna. Much more than your average onsen.

The Ryokan codes are strict as usual for no shoes and ski gear in lockers away from room; this poses a problem with proper drying of snowboard boots etc as the locker section is not adequately heated. Onsen very good. For the westerner who is unfamiliar with Ryokan codes, the rules can be daunting but once understood they are easy to navigate and work around. Staff very helpful. This place is easily accessible via bullet train, 75 minutes from Tokyo as opposed to catching a bus which would take hours

小	小花Tammy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bit outdated, none of the saunas worked, but the outdoor herb bath was just amazing with the snow mountain view, the herb scent sent me back to my childhood You can try great apple cider vinegar drink to refresh after onsen
P	Praful Badola on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a onsen hotel, I went for a day visit. 1 indoor and 2-3 outdoor pools. Outdoor pools look great in winters with snow all around. Free parking. Buying bath tickets is easy with couple of multi-lingual vending machines. There are 2 Resturant’s and a souvenir shop. All in all a good experience.
ち	ちょういいこ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An awesome higaeri onsen place to go to after a day of ski or snowboarding. Their outdoor onsen are pretty phenominal with over three types of onsen. Personally prefer the herb one which has a nice smell to it and at the right temperature for myself. It does get crowded though so would recommend going before the ski resorts close and everyone rushes there. Staff on the other hand didn't feel as friendly though, helpful but not exactly welcoming. The restaurant isn't too bad but just your usual Japanese food and they only open after 6pm which could be inconvenient. Good selection of vending machines offering ice cream, milk and other normal after onsen drinks. Would come back but would need to drive.
