基本的には無人駅ですが、特定の日を寺院「下里庵」として駅事務室を開放しているそうでなかなか面白い駅ですね。
この日に限って管理を受託している住職がボランティア駅長として、乗車券の臨時委託発売を行うそうです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 室戸岬の 辺りの お寺さんから 戴いた 弘法大師さん 木版画が ご縁で こちらに奉られてます そこからか？ こちらの〝御朱印〟も 弘法大師さま。
ご住職が 居てる 額田寺の御朱印とは 違うようです
なぜか 私が ジュースやら 振る舞われて戴いてしまいました (汗)
ここに 月二回 来てくださってる 御坊さんは 梅田のお寺にも お手伝いいらっしゃるそうです (笑)

大正4年に建てられた駅舎です。
駅名の看板が書き直されていますが、その前は右から書いてたのが薄っすらと残ってます。
この日は月に２回の『下里庵』が開かれていました。
汽車の発車時刻まで、お坊さんとお話させてもらいました。
法華口駅はそうでもなかったのですが、こちらの駅はイルミネーションの準備がアチコチされていました。
せめて駅名にはかからない方が良いのでは？と思いました。
