ずいぶん前の話ですが時代劇のロケを頻繁にやっていた事を覚えてます。

この南の大門から入って北にのぼっていくのがよいですね。
途中でどうしても退蔵院に惹かれて入ってしまいますが。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 退蔵院の庭を観て、お抹茶を頂き、法金剛院に行くために、南総門でタクシーを待っていると雨がぱらついてきました。
タクシー会社に電話しても、混んでいて受話器を取りません。
途方にくれているとやっとタクシーが通りかかり助かりました。
荷物になるので傘を持ってきていませんでした。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 妙心寺の南門は、江戸時代の初期の慶長15年(1610年)の建立となります。
南総門とも呼ばれます。
切妻造り、本瓦葺きの薬医門で北門と同じ構造になります。
丸太町通りから分かれた参道の突き当りが南総門となり、すぐ横に勅使門もあるので立派な感じがしました。
北門と同じ構造ということなんですが門の周りの雰囲気で感じ方が変わるんですね。‼️
The south gate of Myoshinji Temple was built in the early 15th year of Keicho (1610) during the Edo period.
Also known as the South Gate.
It has the same structure as the north gate with a gabled and tiled roofed medicine gate.
At the end of the approach that separates from Marutamachi Dori is the South Somon Gate, and there is also the Teshimon Gate right next to it, so it felt great.
It has the same structure as the north gate, but the atmosphere around the gate changes the way you feel. ‼ ️

すぐ横に、勅使門もあります。
It is a magnificent gate because it is the gate of the main mountain of the Rinzai sect Myoshinji school. It was built in 1610.
Right next to it is the Chokushi Gate.
