★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 開館時間が土日祝日の正午から16:00までと限られていますが、ミニ博物館と言う呼び名に騙されてはいけません。しっかり見れば１時間は係ると思います。
無料なのに私、かなり楽しめました。乾燥地帯の定義から乾燥するメカニズム、そこに暮らす人達の衣食住や特有の農作物、乾燥地帯農業のノウハウや課題等々、映像やジオラマ展示を絡めながら順を追ってパネル説明されています。
でも観光ルートから外れてるので閑散としてます。受付にはここの学生っぽいお兄ちゃんがいます。俗っぽい砂の美術館とは対極ですね。
温帯と熱帯及び寒帯しかない日本人にとって乾燥地帯って新鮮です。鳥取大学の研究所の付帯施設ですけど、研究費用としてオイルマネーが入ってるみたいで結構豪華です。
 Opening hours are limited to Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from noon to 16:00, but don't be fooled by the name mini-museum. If you look closely, it will take an hour.
Even though it was free, I enjoyed it a lot. From the definition of arid zone to the mechanism of drying, the clothing, food and housing of the people living there, unique agricultural products, know-how and issues of arid zone agriculture, etc. are explained step by step with videos and diorama exhibitions.
However, it is quiet because it is off the tourist route. There is a student-like brother here at the reception. It's the opposite of the mundane sand museum.
Arid areas are fresh for Japanese people who have only temperate, tropical and boreal zones. It is an ancillary facility of the research institute of Tottori University, but it seems that oil money is included as research expenses, so it is quite luxurious.
