Small park off the river. Beautiful in autumn color in a city that needs more places like this.

Rated it 5 because I felt good about seeing lotus flowers for the first time. Good for walking. I wonder how beautiful the place is in spring as there are so many sakura trees. Also, the lotus patch was a catch! Hakusan Park was not part of our itinerary, but we went anyway. There's also a shrine and a torii gate.

A very beautiful shrine. I highly suggest going in at night as the lightings are something worth experiencing. If you follow their page you can receive a “wishing paper” worth 500¥ to write your wishes on! Staff there was very accommodating. May get crowded at times, so do tread with caution.

Hakusan park has a arts and performance center which has a beautiful interior. It’s also a top location in Niigata for Sakura.

Such a nice park in the center of the city. Small play area for kids. Historic shrine is near by. Little bit crowded in the cherry blossom and festive season. Parking charge is reasonable. Lots of small shop and tasty food stall here in the festive season.

Hakusan Park (白山公園, Hakusan-kōen) is a park in Chūō-ku, Niigata, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The 1964 Niigata earthquake caused the sandy soil under the city to liquefy, damaging many city facilities. The aging baseball stadium was converted to an earthquake memorial using funds from the earthquake disaster relief money. This is currently the Niigata Prefectural Hall. From the 1990s, aging facilities were demolished. A riverside picnic site covering approximately 7 hectares was created, and north and south bound traffic was diverted under the park via a tunnel. Other facilities in the park, such as : 1. Hakusan Shrine 2. Niigata Prefectural Government Memorial Hall 3. Niigata City Music and Culture Hall 4. Niigata-City Performing Arts Center (Ryutopia) 5. Niigata Prefectural Civic Center 6. Niigata City Municipal Gymnasium 7. Niigata City Athletic Stadium

Such an incredible show! I want to see it again. The theatre was also beautiful, not far from the main station and has a great sign of Niigata. Instagram: @alexandriaokayy

Went there to see the Autumn foliage and we did not fail to see. So relaxing seeing the vibrant colours of the leaves that changes every Autumn season. The people were not that much when we visited there so it's better. The place is maintained good . Japanese garden made there is also amazing. Highly recommend for you to visit this place especially autumn season ..
