10月中旬、ニュースでは紅葉が見頃の時期になってはいたけど、もう頂上付近は終わりかけ。早めに行った方がいいのかも。
頂上付近の休憩所(?)の地下にお土産屋さんもあるところの地下1階のお食事処、稲庭うどんを頼んだけど、のびてて残念だった。。

In mid-October, the news said that the autumn leaves were in full bloom, but the area near the summit is almost over. Maybe I should go early.
I ordered Inaniwa Udon, a restaurant on the first basement floor where there is a souvenir shop in the basement of the rest area (?) Near the summit, but I was disappointed. ..

東京から６００ｋｍを走り抜く価値はあります。
雪の回廊はＧＷ早め、紅葉は１０月中旬から下旬がおススメです。

雪の壁の間を車で往来すると圧巻です✨
観光客もたくさんいて、ちょっと渋滞することもありそう…
所々に撮影スポットがあります。
周囲の山々を見下ろす絶景は季節問わずオススメです❗

雪の壁があり、山間の道路を楽しめます。
気持ちの良いワインディングコースです。
路面が一部バンピーなのでスリップに注意したほうが良いです。
開通直後は除雪のため12時開通のときもあります。
I went immediately after opening.
There are snow walls and you can enjoy mountain roads.
It is a comfortable winding course.
It is better to be careful of slips because the road surface is partly bumpy.
Immediately after opening, it may open at 12:00 for snow removal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北のビーナスラインと言わんばかりの八幡平に続く絶景ルートです。もちろん冬期は通行止めとなりますがそれ以外の季節は絶景に出会えることでしょう。
東側から登るルートは東北道からも近くアクセスも楽なのですが難点が2つあって
・坂の勾配が急でコーナーも結構きついです
・路面が荒れている箇所が目立つ（火山地形なので仕方ないのですが路面が大きくうねっている箇所あり）
そこだけが注意です。
北西側のルートは勾配はそれほどきつくないのですが、入り口にたどり着くまでに田沢湖から北に341の山道を約50km程度走ってからとなるのでどちらも一長一短です。もちろんこちら側のルートは玉川、新玉川温泉とセットで来るならまだ気は楽ですが。
It is a superb view route that leads to Hachimantai, which is almost called the Venus Line in the north. Of course, the road is closed in winter, but in other seasons you will be able to see the spectacular scenery.
The route to climb from the east side is close to the Tohoku Expressway and easy to access, but there are two drawbacks.
・ The slope is steep and the corners are quite steep.
・ The rough road surface is conspicuous (there is no choice but because it is a volcanic terrain, but there are some places where the road surface is undulating).
Only there is attention.
The slope on the northwest side is not so steep, but both have advantages and disadvantages because it takes about 50km to reach the entrance on a 341 mountain road north of Lake Tazawa. Of course, if the route on this side comes as a set with Tamagawa and Shin-Tamagawa Onsen, it's still easy.

Super first-class mountain sightseeing road. Easy to drive without a narrow space. If you want to enjoy the scenery, Iwate side is good.
