★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is not Rokkasen. We've eaten at Rokkasen. Rokkasen charged ¥7,000 per person. Their beef melts in your mouth. They give you cloth aprons with cute patterns. They have good tea. Their restaurant stays cool even when the fire is on high.
Gyu Kaku charged ¥3,000 per person. There were four of us so this made a big difference. They give you a paper apron that tears easily (if you ask for one). You can get water and keep asking for refills. I had sweat dripping off my face as I ate my dinner because it was so hot in the restaurant. Nevertheless, for the price they charge, this is very fair. If you want Rokkasen quality, you should pay the Rokkasen price. If you’re on a budget, you can still get a decent all-you-can-eat Yakkitori experience at Gyu Kaku.
The staff spoke very little English and we spoke very little Japanese, so communication was difficult. Perhaps because of this, towards the end of the meal, it felt like they were trying to rush us. They give you 90 minutes to eat, with last order at 70 minutes. After 60 minutes, we were almost done. Around this time, they kept coming around to ask if we were done.
Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful, so the language barrier was the only difficulty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great all you can eat courses. Cool atmosphere. Great price for what you get. Lost stars for frozen meat, also our (non-Japanese) waitress' service was not so good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's unfortunately not possible to do less than one star. We were just refused service because of my partner's tattoos, I also have tattoos but far less visible. The person seating people went to help me to a table until he saw my partner and then shouted "CLOSED" in my face despite my having the Google page open with 11:30pm right there, it only being 9:30 and plenty of people being served around the restaurant. Never before experienced this in my many Japan trips, a little caution about tattoos for sure but never outright rude or declined anywhere. We've also dined at 2 other Gyu-Kaku before in Osaka, and Tokyo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Struggling with 2 stars. We've been to the same chain in Osaka and Kyoto and they can tell time. The food was the same as always, very good, but this location starts the clock from when you're seated vs when you actually place your first order so they stole 10 minutes of ordering from us.

But somehow me and friends there could not have enough food even with 90 min limitation. All of my friends were like we would've satisfied if we could get our meat more faster for more food. Me and the friends all thought that we should've gone to gyu-niku at Akihabara
