ま	ますみださら on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山号　「霊麀山（れいゆうざん）」ご本尊　「千手観音」正式名　「霊麀山行願寺」別称　「革堂」　天台宗の寺院都七福神（寿老神）行願寺は寛弘元年（１００４）、行円が一条小川の一条北辺堂跡地に、堂を復興して行願寺と名付けた。行円は仏門に入る前は、狩猟を業としていた。ある時山で雌鹿を射たところ、亡くなった雌鹿の腹から子鹿が誕生するのを見て、殺生の非を悟り仏門へ、そしてその雌鹿の皮を常に身につけていたことから、皮聖、皮聖人などと呼ばれていた。それにより、寺名も「革堂」と呼ばれるようになったと伝わる。近年は地域猫に餌場や寝ぐらを提供しており、「猫の寺」としても知られる。寺内では、グッズの販売や募金をエサ代として活用している。 Yamago "Mt. あ	あとり on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 22年1月28日に訪れました。本堂の天井に鳥や花の彫刻が施されていて、100枚以上あります。本堂の中は入ることは出来ず、大きな赤い提灯がある辺りから、天井をのぞいて見てみました。天井は暗くて、遠くて花や鳥といった細かい部分はよく見えなかったのですが、焦げ茶色の丸く彫刻したでっぱりのようなものがたくさん見えて、迫力に胸が熱くなりました。幽霊絵馬も有名です。本堂向かって左側の奥に進んでいくと、「寿老人神堂」、大きく立派な鬼瓦が屋根にのった庫裏、加茂大明神五輪塔などがあります。本堂拝観だけではなく、ぜひ行ってみてください。地域猫が見られるそうですが、今回はねこちゃんに会えませんでした。御朱印をいただきました。 I visited on January 28, 2010. S	Sok Hwee Tay on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chanced upon this temple while walking around the streets of Kyoto. The temple was quaint but peaceful. There were many cats present in this temple but they do get scared easily so do approach gentle and quietly.
