★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There's a pc where you can watch a-bomb survivors tell their part of stories. In Japanese, no subtitle available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you’re in the neighbourhood worth a quick visit. Pretty sad to see evidence of this great city being wiped out twice in 22 years. Friendly staff and enough English to get the gist. Free.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ *May-20: Memorial, Museum, Earthquake, Park, World War II.
>Strength: Place of Remembrance.
>Weakness: We may listen and learn about Japan - U.S. War in one side view.
>Opportunity: We can learn the importance of long lasting peace.
>Threat: Nothing special.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Free to visit memorial hall near Ryogoku station. In the vicinity of the hall we can see preserved "melted" and burnt objects like steel beams, cars, engines, piles of melted nails and other metal objects. The museum itself is filled with burnt mementos, "3D maps" (earthquake epicentre below the city), old newspaper articles from all around the world, foreign humanitarian aid outfits and lot of pictures. Usually everything comes with english translations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seeing some of the photos and artifacts at the museum was nice, but it was also sad at the same time. I can’t imagine the pain/fear that the people must have felt during the Great Kanto Earthquake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lesser known place for foreigners and perhaps locals too. Part of a string of war and disaster memorials in Japan that are ignored by tourists and seldom mentioned in tour guides and itineraries. Worth a visit in Tokyo to witness the relics from the Kanto Earthquake and the Tokyo firebombing from WW2.
Equally moving to Hiroshima and Nagasaki for its black and white images and evocative sketched. Also a triumph of the Japanese spirit for resilience and renewal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Free Muesum detailing two of Tokyo's most devastating chapters. Ground floor is dedicated to the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake and the first floor to Toyko's near total destruction during the War World Two air Raids. Very humbling experience and reinforces Japan's achievements at rebuilding Tokyo twice.
