★ ★ ★ ★ ★ スッポンメイン、頼めばウナギも食べられます。道路に面した店の表の水槽から自分で網を使ってつかまえ、即調理。生き血、刺身、唐揚げ、雑炊とフルコース食べられます。1人で一匹は多いのでカップルがおすすめです。余ればお持ち帰りもできます。味は保証出来ますが、カウンター席で大将ひとりの店なので店内が汚いのを我慢出来ない方にはお薦め出来ません。要予約。
Soft-shelled turtle main, you can also eat eel if you ask. You can catch it from the aquarium on the front of the store facing the road using a net and cook it immediately. You can eat live blood, sashimi, fried chicken, porridge and full-course meal. Couples are recommended as there are many ones per person. You can take it home if you have a surplus. Although the taste can be guaranteed, it is not recommended for those who cannot stand the dirty interior of the restaurant because it is a restaurant with only one general at the counter. Reservation required.

刺身、唐揚、鍋、雑炊、それぞれ美味しく、よい初すっぽんとなりました。
店内は、8名程度で満席であり、少し雑然としているので、気心の知れた仲間内の宴会に向いていると思います。

Sashimi, deep-fried tofu, pan, risotto, each delicious and good first place.
The store is full of around 8 people and it's a bit cluttered, so I think it's good for a party in a spirited group.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 当初は他のスッポン料理店へ行く予定でしたが、お休みだった為、違うお店を検索。ですがそちらもお休み。諦めてどうしようかと、またまた通ったのが蘆田さんでした。
予約もしてないし断わられる覚悟でしたが、店主さんが本当に良い方でしたのでスッポン料理を食べる事が出来ました。
印象的だったのが目の前で見せて頂いた包丁捌きです。一切無駄が無くスピーディーで見事でした。
勿論、スッポンも鰻も会話も絶品でした。
また伺わせて頂きます。
Initially, I was planning to go to another soft-shelled turtle restaurant, but since it was a holiday, I searched for a different restaurant. However, that is also a holiday. It was Mr. Akita who gave up and went again.
I didn't make a reservation and was prepared to refuse, but the owner was a really good person, so I was able to eat soft-shelled turtle dishes.
What impressed me was the kitchen knife handling that I showed in front of me. It was speedy and wonderful without any waste.
Of course, the soft-shelled turtle, eel, and conversation were excellent.
I will visit you again.

どちらも注文後に水槽から取り出し捌いて頂けます。
すっぽんのお刺身は初めて食べましたが、赤身もレバーも牛に近いものを感じましたっ
卵は見た目に若干抵抗を感じましたが、1つ頂けばなんて事はないと思いますっ
活血、刺身、唐揚げ、鍋、雑炊と出てきます
2時間半みておけば大丈夫です。
小食の方ですと、3人でスッポン1匹+鰻1匹くらいが丁度良さそうです
鰻の白焼きも非常に美味しかったですっ
店内は汚いというか若干散らかった感は否めませんが 気さくな大将ですのでご愛敬という事で

For a small meal, it seems just good to have 1 turtle + 1 eel about 3 people

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ OK, this place is a big deal for foodies. Heads up, the guy here speaks zero English, so you gotta find and go with a native buddy. But they serve Chinese turtle (suppon) and I always get the dinner for two wherein two people share one turtle and then he makes, right in front of you, like a six course meal from the one turtle. It was incredible.
The course meal I always go for usually consist of a shot made from a mixture of sake and blood from the turtle, a tofu dish, some fried turtle parts (karaage), and incredibly some turtle sashimi (raw meat), then a nabe (hot pot) course, and it's finished off with a rice porage with everything that's left.
I've been to this place 2 times now and will definitely continue to take my friends there when I take them on tours of Kyoto.
The chef is a great, funny and talkative guy, but again, gotta be able to speak the language for the full experience.
