御祭神は木花咲耶姫命。創建は正保2（1659）年とも文亀3（1503）年ともいわれ，駿河国冨士神社から分祀された。古くは権現宮と称したが，維新後に現社名に改称されたそうです。鉾田市立旭北小学校の西側の道路に社号標と石段を見つけたので，登ってみると仏像が並び，道路が延びていました。その道路を上ると・・・綺麗に整地された境内に真新しい立派な社殿が。どんなに新しいかというと，あまりに新しすぎて，（たぶん）改築祈念碑にカバーがかかっているくらい新品です。小学校を見下ろす（樹木で見えませんが）この高台に，祖先から脈々と続く信仰は本当に尊いものです。

The deity is Konohanasakuya Himemei. It was founded in 1659 (Shoho 2) and Bunki 3 (1503), and was enshrined at Suruga Kuni Fuji Shrine. It used to be called Gongengu, but it was renamed to the current company name after the Meiji Restoration. I found the company name and stone steps on the road on the west side of Asahikita Elementary School in Hokota City, so when I climbed up, Buddha statues lined up and the road extended. When you go up the road, you will find a brand new and magnificent shrine in the beautifully leveled precincts. No matter how new it is, it's so new that it's (probably) so new that the renovation monument is covered. The faith that continues from our ancestors on this hill overlooking the elementary school (not visible in the trees) is truly precious.
