One of the best ramen I’ve ever had! The shrimp-based broth is so rich. Staff don’t speak English. You will have to order through a machine at the entrance and the machine doesn’t have English translation.

Such rich and tasty ramen. The soup is pork and shrimp based and is delicious. No wait when we visited on a Sunday evening. You order at a machine and select your soup richness and extras.

No actual shrimp in the bowl. The shrimp broth smelled and tasted more like shrimp shell than shrimp meat. The thick noodle is too soft for my liking. Cha-shu pork and gyoza is ok, but not noteworthy.

It is not a typical shoyu, miso or salt ramen. It is shrimp and pork broth ramen! Very rich and delicious. Try it if you don’t mind shrimps!

Ichigen Ebi (prawn) ramen shop. This place is super super popular with locals and tourists and is one of the few shops around Tokyo. Hard to locate and get to given that it's a bit out of the way from the station but worth waiting for... If you go around 11am or 3pm, the odd hours definitely mean the lines are shorter. I have taken photos of the menu so please review before visiting and make sure you know how to order from the vending machine. Top is normal, below is moderate soup and 3rd is the strong heavy soups. I had the heavy one and it is THICK. Liquid fat/oil. So much flavour. I reckon ebimiso ramen over any tonkotsu pork ramen. Hands down. Fyi, dont mix in the black paste if you do not like charred BBQ type flavour.

The ramen is really good if you are a shrimp lover. This shop is well-known for its soup base which is made from shrimp instead of pork marrow bones. The soup base is so rich that you like tasting lobster bisque. You must love this place if you are a ramen and shrimp lover. With only 10+ seat, you can expect a long wait in particular if you want to dine there during meal hours. In order to avoid the crowd and long waiting, later afternoon will be a good time. Very likely that i will come again in my next visit to Shinjuku.

Get ready to queue!! U need to order via the vending machine. The ordering system is pretty straight forward so it shouldn’t be an issue. The smell of shrimp sure fills the air. The ramen noodle: done just right, the broth: shrimp had went to heaven and back to taste that good.

Despite the few shrimp flavor, the salt-based ramen was good enough and not expensive at all (less than ¥800). The shrimp rice ball (which didn’t have too much shrimp either) was good too. Came around 11:30 on a holiday and didn’t have to wait to be seated, it seemed people come and leave very fast so in rush hour you wouldn’t have to wait too much either.
