★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 西伊豆にある、堂ヶ島天窓洞(青の洞窟)は、白い凝灰岩(安山岩質)の地質が海水によって侵食されて出来た海蝕洞窟で、国の天然記念物に指定されています。
洞窟内部中央付近の天井には、直径10数メートルの穴が抜け落ちて開いていて、その天窓から洞窟内のエメラルドグリーンの海面に光が射し込んで、神秘的な光景を見せてくれます。
洞窟の入口は三ヶ所あって内部でつながり、複雑な構造になっています。
地上部の天窓周囲には遊歩道があり、洞窟内部を覗き込むことができます。
洞窟内は遊覧船で入って見ることができます。波が穏やかで遊覧船が運航している時は是非乗船して、天窓洞の神秘的な光と水の風景を楽しんでみて下さい。
 Dogashima Tenmado Cave (blue cave) in Nishiizu is a sea erosion cave formed by eroding the geology of white tuff (andesite) by seawater, and is designated as a national natural monument.
A hole with a diameter of more than 10 meters has fallen out of the ceiling near the center of the inside of the cave, and light shines through the skylight onto the emerald green sea surface inside the cave, giving a mysterious sight.
There are three entrances to the cave, which are connected internally and have a complicated structure.
There is a promenade around the skylight above the ground, and you can look inside the cave.
You can see the inside of the cave by entering the tour boat. When the waves are calm and the tour boat is in operation, please board the boat and enjoy the mysterious light and water scenery of Tenmado Cave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 15-20 minute ride boat ride can take you inside of the cave, tickets are ¥1300-¥2900 depending on how long the tour you want is. Parking is available right across the street. Two sea shell gift shops and an ice cream shoppette. Short walk away from a beach with restaurants. And right next to some wonderful cliffs to go climbing on.
