★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very relaxing, quiet place that you must go if you are looking for something authentic Japanese. There are many cafes with traditional garden on the backyard, but it's difficult in Kyoto to find a place without too much noise from crowds. This place is the hidden gem of the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled upon this cafe when walking in the neighborhood and saw the sign for a matcha. Walked in and ordered and was told to wait in the back room, we walked back and WOW. It is a beautifully designed room with huge glass windows overlooking the garden. I had ordered to go, but we had to stay for a while to take in the peaceful scene. The very kind owner lives nextdoor and also runs a guest house on the other side of the cafe. Great place to rest and enjoy a tea or coffee while walking around the neighborhood. Would be a great place to do some work. Vegan friendly, has soy milk for lattes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled across this hidden little cafe while waiting to check in to our ryokan stay.
Saw cold drinks and ice cream on the sign out the front and walked in to be so pleasantly surprised. Very peaceful environment with a gorgeous Japanese garden lookout.
Went to leave a review and noticed so many other people get this surprise too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We happened in here by accident and what a pleasant surprise. A super minimalist interior leads you to a striking Japanese garden in the backyard. Service was gracious and meticulous. A very welcoming little zen coffee break from Kyoto's crowds!

I just found this cafe accidentally, but WOW! This place is amazing.
This cafe is kind of hidden. So there were little people when I got there. (It's a not-crowded cafe in the tourist sites)
Cozy atmosphere, nice sceneary, delicious food and drink! High recommended!

Cash only. Pay when you go out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice interior and beautiful view into the garden, but food and drinks are overpriced. If you want to have a decent coffee, go somewhere else. They don't have professional equipment and serve coffee with hot milk as "Cafe Latte".
