English menu & service available. Everything from the food, ingredients, presentation, atmosphere, service are 'uniquely Kyoto' and are a great experience worth splurging on. That said, I noticed some differences between the English and Japanese menus. The set course in the English menu may differ slightly from the one in the Japanese menu so you might want to confirm this and choose whichever suits you best.

We ordered various dishes- grilled local chicken, simmered pork, grilled fish, pickles, rice in broth etc.. The food was delicious and we changed a few sake. However the next day, my partner and I suffered huge migraines and upset stomach due to alcohol poisoning. We think some of these sake are produced without license. The restaurant is not owned by the chef, but an investor owning 6 of these restaurants. We are concerned that they do not care so much about the food but the profit. We enjoyed the dinner but suffered much the next day, will not go again even though food was not bad...
