★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昔々のその昔のこと。折しも宮下部落で歌舞伎一座の興行が行われていた。その時、ニョロニョロ～と舞台に大蛇が現れたので上の下への大騒ぎ。一座の者が大蛇の鎌首を切り落として退治したわけだが・・・それから何年か経ち、何故か宮下部落では早死にや事故が不自然に増えるようになった。部落の人々がえらい易者に占ってもらったところ、これは大蛇の祟りが原因であり、弁天様を祀るようにとの託宣が降りた。衆議の結果、上野の不忍池の弁天様を勧請して沼王神社の側にお祀りしたと云う。
田圃の前の径から草の丘に上ると草むらの境内となり、塩化ビニール製の鳥居正面の赤い屋根の祠が弁天様でありましょう。右奥の祠が沼王神社であろうと思います。
しかし、沼王神社の御祭神は蛇神でありましょうから、先の話であるように元々沼王神社があったとするのは、どうも理屈が立ちませんね。

A troupe cut off the snake's sickle and got rid of it ... Several years later, for some reason, the number of premature deaths and accidents began to increase unnaturally in the Miyashita Buraku. When the Buraku people were asked to fortune-tell by a great easy-goer, this was caused by the curse of a large snake, and a decree was given to worship Benzaiten. As a result of the congress, it is said that Benzaiten of Shinobazu Pond in Ueno was solicited and enshrined on the side of Numao Shrine.
If you climb the grass hill from the diameter in front of the rice field, you will see the precincts of the grass, and the red roof shrine in front of the vinyl chloride torii will be Benzaiten. I think the shrine on the far right is the Quagsire Shrine.
However, since the deity of the quagsire shrine should be a snake god, it makes no sense to say that there was originally a quagsire shrine as mentioned earlier.
