The shrine is an amazing example of Japanese traditional architecture. Everything is in pristine condition. Also interesting are the folks that dress up in traditional kimonos for the visit, as well as the warriors that seemed delighted by all the attention they were drawing. Plenty of stalls selling over-priced souvenirs, but still cheaper than the airport! I highly recommend visiting this shrine and it’s very walkable from the Asakusa JRT station. I’ve been to Japan over a hundred times now and found this shrine to be a great addition to my memories.

It’s a beautiful shrine and worth visiting once. There’s lots of stores and good food vendors in the area too. At night it is really empty and the vibe is totally different, I prefer to walk around there at night and perhaps visit a nearby izakaya

Pictures from a few years ago when I went during the cherry bloom season. It’s very crowded and touristy but it’s for a reason. The whole area has cool little stands with food and souvenirs. The temple itself is also very impressive.

very touristic and big shrine! this place is really big surrounded by souvenir shops, cafe, restaurant, snack stalls and many more. very interesting to visit for culinary and souvenir hunt too. the perk about this place it's too crowded everyday, especially on some special occasions/event, you wouldn't be able to walk. Tips to avoid the over-crowd time is to come during afternoon 3 pm or 4 pm but some shops will be closed.

Probably one of the tourist spots you can’t miss regardless your religion. Built thousand years ago and is a Buddhist temple. Very crowded on the weekend and you have hard time to walk through and take a good shot. An experience to see how people gets blessing with the smile from the burning incense. You strolled a busy street packed with souvenirs shops and food.. the temple structure is unique and showed the Japanese Buddhist tradition with bright red color paintings ! Worth a visit if you are a first time to japan!

It can get busy but it's a very relaxing place where you conduct yourself with dignity. Tourists and locals frequent the shrine and all are welcome. The market close by accepts card payments and no one tries to rob you or overcharge you because you might be a tourist. Public transport is close by, affordable and safe

Lots of temples and shrines in Japan, this is one of the popular area for tourist. Came with tour so didn't have too much time to explore but really like the place. Cherry Blossoms were blooming on the season.

Amazing vibes. Visiting early morning or evening time could be more peaceful and fun. Big place with many gardens and shrines. The shrine is wonderful, great souvenir shopping great sightseeing and the best people-watching also. Go down a little side streets and alleys great souvenir and food eating.
