There are 398 steps leads up to the temple, so be ready to climb. I don't believe it's open to ordinary cars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot to catch a photo with Mount Fuji! Perfect in springtime to catch all the cherry blossoms. There is a photo deck right the perfect height to grab a pic. There are also trials leading up the mountain. No drones ;) also, they have beware of bear signs up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful spot to see Mt Fuji (if it decides to show itself!). The walk from shimoyoshida station to the top Observatory takes about 20-25 mins depending on fitness. It is a step walk if you take the stairs. Slightly less steep if you take the road but longer. You can't drive up to the top. The views of Fuji are wonderful, especially when you get the shrine and the autumn leaves in frame. Well worth the heavy breathing

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing views of Fuji. Best to go in the early morning to have the place to your self. There is a large free parking lot, but be prepared to walk either up all the stairs or on the ramps.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arakura Fuji Sengen Junja Shrine is one of the best spots in the neighborhood to see the beautiful and magnificent views of Mt. Fuji.
It took us about half an hour from the train station to the recommended lookout point by walking and we really enjoyed it. There weren't too many tourists and the ambiance was cozy & relaxing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ THIS IS A MUST SEE!!!!!! It has an iconic view of Mt Fuji, and if possible go during Cherry Blossom time. Wear good shoes for climbing stairs or walking a path. It is an easy hike but is step. A great place to get some family/graduation/engagement/ect.. photos.
