見事な青松の林と海岸線のあった集落は津波に呑み込まれ多くの犠牲者を出しました。
その慰霊碑とともに観音様が建立されています。
以前の様に、この地に人々が集い住む事はもう無いでしょう。
観音様は集落のあった方に微笑みを向けておられました。
Visited 21/4/10.
The village, which had a splendid green pine forest and coastline, was swallowed by the tsunami and caused many casualties.
Kannon is erected along with the memorial monument.
People will no longer gather and live here as they used to.
Kannon smiled at the village.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 東日本大震災の第一報であった、２００人から３００人のご遺体が発見された場所が荒浜地区です。以降、仙台被災地がクローズアップされることはなく、主に地元の人達が手を合わせる慰霊塔として、見守られています。荒浜にいらっしゃる際は、お立ち寄り頂ければと思います。

The Arahama area is where the bodies of 200 to 300 people were found, which was the first report of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Since then, the Sendai disaster area has not been highlighted, and it is being watched mainly as a memorial tower where locals join hands. When you come to Arahama, please drop in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After visited the Sendai Arahama Elementary School, we came to this place, just outside the school where there was a 慰霊の塔 for the many lives lost during the earthquake and tsunami. There was a huge concrete barrier now built up. Quiet and place of reflection.....
