★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 地獄穴と謂われる所以はかつて馬の遺体などを放り込んだからとされている。閉伊穴の別名はあるが、伝説のある閉伊穴はここではない松館の鍾乳洞の洞穴であったという説が有力と思う。
種差観光協会の柳沢会長によれば、実際に調査したら馬の骨が出た由。
穴というよりは、淀の松原付近に多い、海に向かって回廊のような岩の列の狭い部分が、上部の崩落で洞穴上になったものであろう。
画像は刈り込まれた春先の状態なので撮影できたが、夏場には周囲が藪となり、穴は見えない。踏み込むと危険なのでロープが張られ立ち入りは禁止されている。

The image was taken in the early spring when it was trimmed, but in the summer the surrounding area became bushy and no holes could be seen. Since it is dangerous to step on it, a rope is stretched and entry is prohibited.
