★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 寛文8年（1668）に完成したもので明神鳥居の様式である。岩手県東磐井郡産の花崗岩を用いており、高さは地盤より笠木端まで5.7m。門の幅は、柱下部で柱心間5m、同じく柱上部で4.6mである。明治35年暴風のため樹木が倒れ鳥居が損傷したので、同40年（1907）足固めを新しく設け修復した。県下では東照宮の石鳥居に次ぐ古いもので、形も優美である。宮城県文化財。
It was completed in 1668 (Kanbun 8) and is in the style of the Myojin Torii. Granite from Higashiiwai District, Iwate Prefecture is used, and the height is 5.7m from the ground to the edge of Kasagi. The width of the gate is 5m between the pillar centers at the bottom of the pillar and 4.6m at the top of the pillar. The tree collapsed due to the storm in 1902 and the torii gate was damaged, so in 1907, a new footrest was installed and repaired. It is the second oldest in the prefecture after the stone torii gate of Toshogu, and its shape is also graceful. Miyagi Prefecture Cultural Property.

1668年に伊達綱村が寄進した鳥居で、現在の岩手県一関市から取り寄せた花崗岩を使っている…との事です。1988年に現在の一の鳥居が建てられた事により、二の鳥居と呼ばれるようになったそうです。つまり320年間は一の鳥居だったという事でしょうか？
この鳥居は一の鳥居よりは小さいですが、非常に美しい石鳥居です。
