★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 山形市内には十日町や七日町、八日町といった町名が多く見られますが、これは最上義光が城下町の整備を行った際、商業振興のため決まった日に市を立てることにした名残です。十日町も市が立つ町として繁栄しましたが、近代以降は商業の中心地は徐々に七日町に集約されていくこととなります。十日町には古い蔵を構えた店が今も点在しており、かつての繁栄を偲ぶことができます。
