★ ★ ★ ★ ★ かつてここを流れていた三田用水の数少ない遺構のひとつです。このボックスカルバートの中を三田用水が流れていました。
前身の三田上水は、現在の港区南東部エリアの飲用水として1664年に開通しました。現在の世田谷区北沢で玉川上水から分水し、世田谷区、渋谷区、目黒区、品川区を経て港区芝に至る全長10kmほどの水路でした。1722年にいったん廃止されますが、流域の村々の要望を受け2年後に「三田用水」として復活し流域の村々の田畑を潤しました。その後、1974年に通水が停止されています。
三田用水の遺構はここ以外に目黒区三田や港区白金に見ることができます。
 It is one of the few remains of Mita Aqueduct that once flowed here. Mita Aqueduct was flowing through this box culvert.
Its predecessor, Mita Aqueduct, was opened in 1664 as drinking water in the current southeastern area of Minato Ward. It was a waterway with a total length of about 10 km from Tamagawa Josui in the current Kitazawa, Setagaya Ward, to Shiba, Minato Ward via Setagaya Ward, Shibuya Ward, Meguro Ward, and Shinagawa Ward. It was once abolished in 1722, but two years later it was revived as "Mita Aqueduct" at the request of the villages in the basin and moistened the fields of the villages in the basin. After that, water flow was stopped in 1974.
The remains of Mita Aqueduct can also be found in Mita, Meguro-ku and Shirokane, Minato-ku.
