★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 「1928ビル」は、昭和3年（1928年）に毎日新聞社京都支局として建設された。
設計は「関西建築界の父」ともいわれる武田五一によるもので、武田は他にも京都市役所の設計も手がけている。
旧社章を象った星形の窓やバルコニー、正面入口のランプカバーや床のタイルなど、様々なデザインにアール・デコ洋式を取り入れている。
1983年には京都市登録有形文化財に登録された。
近代建築の傑作が並ぶ三条通りにおいて、その特異な外観から目を引く傑作のひとつ。
リノベーションされて劇場やカフェやアートギャラリーなどに活用されているのも良い。
The "1928 Building" was built in 1928 as the Kyoto branch of the Mainichi Shimbun.
The design was by Goichi Takeda, who is said to be the "father of the Kansai architectural world," and Takeda is also involved in the design of Kyoto City Hall.
Art Deco Western style is incorporated into various designs such as star-shaped windows and balconies in the shape of the old company emblem, lamp covers at the front entrance and floor tiles.
In 1983, it was registered as a tangible cultural property registered by Kyoto City.
One of the masterpieces that stands out from its unique appearance on Sanjo-dori, where masterpieces of modern architecture are lined up.
It is also good that it has been renovated and used in theaters, cafes and art galleries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 単によくある洋風というのではなく、アールデコというか、チェコのキュビズム建築みたいな造形感覚があり、通るたびに見てしまう。
とくにキュビズムを感じるバルコニーは、調べたところ毎日新聞社の記章をモチーフにしているらしい（元毎日新聞社京都支局）。
設計は武田五一。
It's not just a common Western style, but it has a sense of modeling like Art Deco or Czech Cubist architecture, and I see it every time I pass by.
In particular, the balcony that feels cubism seems to have the insignia of the Mainichi Newspaper as a motif (former Mainichi Newspaper Kyoto branch).
