★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 養種園遺跡は，市の東部にあり，若林区役所の南側に位置する。若林区文化センターの立つ旧養種園跡地を中心に広がり，広瀬川左岸に広がる自然堤防北端部に立地する。標高は約13mで，面積は約87,700㎡，範囲は約300m四方である。北側約1kmには陸奥国分寺跡がある。平成3年(1991)から行われた文化センターおよび都市計画道路建設に先立つ発掘調査で，縄文時代から江戸時代にわたる複合遺跡であることがわかった。特に中世の遺構群，戦国期の屋敷跡，江戸時代の庭園を伴う屋敷跡が注目される。
 The nursery ruins are located in the eastern part of the city, on the south side of the Wakabayashi Ward Office. It spreads around the former breeding ground where the Wakabayashi Ward Cultural Center stands, and is located at the northern end of the natural levee on the left bank of the Hirose River. The altitude is about 13m, the area is about 87,700㎡, and the range is about 300m square. The ruins of Mutsu-Kokubunji Temple are located about 1km north. An archaeological excavation conducted prior to the construction of the Cultural Center and the city planning road from 1991 revealed that it is a complex archaeological site from the Jomon period to the Edo period. In particular, the remains of the Middle Ages, the remains of the mansion during the Warring States period, and the remains of the mansion with a garden during the Edo period are noteworthy.
