You can learn about Sakuma Shozan's achievements experientially while looking at replica invention tools. I was really surprised at the magnitude of the intellectual curiosity of Xiangshan.

中には、撮影禁止ですが、佐久間象山が作った、カメラや通信機や、象山が使ってたとする、硯や書道セット、実際に書いたとされる手紙などが、多く飾られています。
10分ほどの象山を知るための資料映像もあります。

佐久間象山が京都で暗殺された際、馬上に敷いていた血染めの敷物がありました。
入館料400円は少々割高。

佐久間象山のことは知らなかったのですが、多才ぶりについていろいろ解説されています。映像も流されています。
ただ中は全面的に撮影禁止なのが残念。世間一般ではそこまで知名度が高いとは言えないだけに、一部でも撮影して残せればよかったのにと思う部分はありました。

暗殺されなかったら日本の歴史も変わったかもしれませんね。
象山に関わりのある吉田松陰も同じく刑死しなかったら、、、残念です。
