★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Please go out of your way to support local coffee shops, wherever you travel. This is a small, relaxed and friendly shop. They have English language menus, and serve very good coffee and delicious toast for breakfast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hidden gem. This unassuming cafe serves astounding coffee, with unique blends as well as daily rotating single origins. They even serve geisha beans as a matter of course, though you have to pay extra. Not a place for laptops etc as tables are small. But a fantastic place for coffee. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Intrigued by this unique, small coffee shop. I keep coming back to this place every time i’m around Ueno. Actually it’s the small roasting machine that make this shop a roaster rather than just the coffee shop. You can have a take-away fresh roasted coffee bean made to your choice while zipping a cup at the shop. The cups served here are pretty, each of them are difference and choosed by owner to match customer’s personality. Lovely couples who run the shop speak limited English but they are extremely polite but friendly and very service minded.
