Last year I couldn't visit because of the new roller turmoil I was able to revenge But isn't the admission fee a little expensive? It is true that the present that looks peaceful is based on many sacrifices, and it is human beings who can learn not to repeat the same thing, but it depends on the top of the era. But it made me think.

I knew that Yuji Koseki, the main character, composed "Yokaren no Uta" for the preparatory training in the NHK morning drama "Ale" of Corona, but I've always wanted to visit Kasumigaura's preparatory training. I was able to finally visit this time because the museum was closed and opened repeatedly due to the bad weather. (Currently there is a limit on the number of people who can enter Adults 500 yen, elementary, junior high and high school students 300 yen) Outside is a full-scale model of the Zero Fighter, Kaiten (human torpedo). In the hall, there was an exhibition of "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday" and valuable materials and photographs that were devoted to training every minute from 5 am to 9 pm every day. There were innocent, serious and talented young people, only 14 to 17 years old, who were caught up in the speculation of some adults who started the war with Japan preempting it. At first, young people who just want to get on the plane of their dreams are gradually swallowed. The only photo I have during my vacation is chatting with my friends with a carefree smile. A letter to the family when going to the battlefield. It is a solid sentence with a brush that you can see the strong behavior that you can not think that you are only 17 to 19 years old. In the record screening, when the Zero Fighter charges into the enemy's mother ship, it charges while sounding Morse code. A signal of assault when the Morse code disappears. The inner corner of my eyes became hot involuntarily. After leaving the building, continue to the "Yushokan" on the premises of the Self-Defense Forces. It was released free of charge, and I saw the photos and letters of each of the Yokaren who died in the battlefield. In the last sentence, "They are not dead. Their credit is to spread peace in Japan in the future. " It made my heart warm. Because the world is occupied by generations who have not experienced war, we should know the negative history properly and tell the next generation that we should never repeat it, so please come and think about the importance of "peace" and "correct education". We recommend that you carry it.

The YOKAREN Peace Memorial Museum and the Yokaren Museum on the JGSDF Camp Tsuchiura, are two small museums close to Tokyo, they tell the military history of the Navy base that use to be here. The museum has a Zero fighter plane replica and a Kaiten suicide submarine on display. The Zero, Kaiten and the smaller Yokaren Museum are all free to see. The JGSDF Camp has several tanks on display, including the only Chi-Nu tank left, but there all of limits to the public.

This is a Japanese memorial museum to the young kamikaze pilots of World War II. It's a beautiful museum and very thoughtfully laid out. It tells the story of recruitment, training and the eventual duty of these young pilots. You do need to know Japanese or have someone that knows Japanese to fully understand the story. There is very little English available.
