★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この辺り、昔は新田作りの為に営まれた寒村があった。
その後、新田の鎮守としてこの神社は勧請されたという。
神社の前を玉串川が走っている。
鳥居の左右には明らかに古い一対の石灯篭がある。
おそらくこの石灯篭が一番の宝物であろう。

Tamakishi River runs in front of the shrine.
There are clearly a pair of old stone lanterns on the left and right sides of the torii.
Probably this stone lantern is the best treasure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 氏神様。いつもいつもありがとうございます。山本駅に近く大晦日の深夜から元旦にかけて駅までの行列が出来る。祈祷希望の方は列に並ばず直接受付へ行くとすぐご祈祷してもらえる。破魔矢、お守り等のお下がりもたくさんいただける。御祈祷していただくとご利益間違いなし！

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 旧社格は村社、主祭神は誉田別尊(応仁天皇)別名山本八幡神社(旧称)創建は享保元年(1716年)山境内が整備され「山本八幡宮」と改称し現在に至っている。田の開発者である山中庄兵衛正永と本山弥右衛門重英(加賀屋)の両人らが石清水八幡宮より神霊を勧し山本新田の鎮守として分祀された、当初は「山本八幡神社」と言う名称だったその後享保13年(1728年正月に加賀屋から泉屋住友吉左衛門ヘ所有が変わった後には住友家の尊崇と保護を受け近代迄至る、恩智神社の社家である新海(にいみ)氏より専任の宮司を迎え入れる、この頃に山本新田住友会所の建物の移築も有り境内が整備され「山本八幡宮」と改称し現在に至っている。
