★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 湾が一望できるし桜の花見の場所でもあります。とりたてて言うほどではありませんが眺めがとても綺麗ですよ。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この薬師公園には句碑、墓碑、文学碑、彰徳碑があり、それを読み歩きながら散策できる公園です。
釜石は本州初の艦砲射撃を受けた地であり、それに備えた独立高射砲第三十四中隊の陣地跡も残っています。2度の艦砲射撃を受けたのは釜石だけと聞いています。
その当時、日清日露戦争の戦死者を弔う忠魂碑が建っていましたが、艦砲射撃により破壊され、現在の平和像横に忠魂碑の一部が残っています。
春にはさくら祭りが行われ、季節、歴史、市内の展望を楽しめる公園です。
This Yakushi Park has a monument, a tombstone, a literary monument, and a Shode monument, and you can stroll while reading them.
Kamaishi was the first land on Honshu to be shot by a ship, and the site of the independent anti-aircraft gun 34th Company was also left behind. I heard that Kamaishi was the only one who had been hit by two guns.
At that time, there was a memorial monument for the dead of the Sino-Japanese Russo-Japanese War, but it was destroyed by gunfire, and part of the memorial remains next to the present peace statue.
The Sakura Festival is held in the spring, and you can enjoy the seasons, history, and views of the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 釜石市保健福祉センターの隣から登れます。海が少し見られます。平和像には街を守ってきた者の強さを感じました
公園自体は広くはないですがトイレは立派です。急に人が多く集まっても大丈夫なようにとの備えかなと愚察しました

夜はライトアップもされています
釜石の町をを一望出来る公園です。
震災の時は多くの人がここに避難されたそうです
私の母もここに避難して助かりました。
桜の時期には是非訪れて下さい

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ビジネスホテル側から確認できる階段は、非常階段のようなので普段はそちらからは上がることはできませんのでご注意を。段数があるうえ、途中で施錠されております。
石段の緩い階段を上がると、途中に薬師寺、稲荷、とありさらに上がったところに公園があります。ステップハンターポイントとしては、長寿…と名前つけた人天才かよ？！と思うこの絶妙な段差。足腰の鍛え直しにはもってこいです。
歩きはじめのお子さまなら途中の稲荷くらいまで、小学校低学年くらいまでなら公園まで景色をみながらお散歩など楽しめると思います。
公園といっても、広場にトイレ、ベンチ程度ですが、海を眺めたり、歴史を感じたり、向かいの釜石大観音をみたりと、やることはたくさんありそう。
花の咲く季節はお花見も楽しめそうですね。
ただし、鹿がいたり、熊もでるそうですから、夕方夜間は気をつけて。
足元のシカフントラップにも要注意です。

朝の散歩でふらっと入り込んでしまったけど、階段を登った先はなかなかの眺めです。
A park on a mountain slope not far from the city.
