In the old days of the Oiso Ushibukuro district where the shrine is enshrined, the Abukuma River passes from the Hayakawa district to the Ushibukuro / Ashibukuro district, and the water flow divides into several sections and pours into the Tori Sea. The east of the county is from the mountain side to the sea, and has been handed down as a good place to live in Taihei, using the Abukuma River as a water source for life. Mr. Sai Echizen (2nd year of Meiji)
People who suffer from famine, poor life and suffer from epidemics due to genius (such as drought and flooding of the Abukuma River) due to genius (such as drought and flooding of the Abukuma River) during the pilgrimage of the countries, It is said that after the continuation of the situation, it was founded that it was solicited for the good harvest of the cereals, the eradication of the plague, and the well-being of the Ushibukuro area (to celebrate with the spirit of God). (Enclosure climate)
In addition, according to the company's biography, it was founded in the same year (806-809, Masahiro Sakaueda, Masaru Sakaue), was founded, and in the year of Yodo (around 1565), the shrine was destroyed by a suspicious fire. And all the treasures will be burned down. However, it is said that the villagers cooperated and revived in 1605. At that time, the company name was originally called “Ushizu Tennosha” because it was the time of Shintobu. This Ushizu Tennosha is a bell guardian deity of the former Gion Seisha in India, became a festival god of the Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto, and is called Yakushi Narai's incarnation. For this reason, it has been popularly known as “Otenno-san”. In March 1868 (Separate Order of Shinbutsu) was declared by Taishi, the company name was changed to “Yakumo Shrine”. In November 1872, the name of the shrine was changed to “ In July 1920, the shrine was designated as a “Shinto shrine garment co-promoting shrine” (a system in which the town and village donate offerings and the first panicle to the gods on holidays). Since the Meiji period, the festival of summer festivals has been designated as “Watari-cho Traditional Kagura Intangible Cultural Property” and the “Ushibukuro Hoshiin Kagura” has been lively devoted. It is adored by the local people as a god of absurdity and good harvest. I hope you can use it as a place to deepen your bonds as a base for life and customs throughout the festival.
