In addition to the exquisite design and the super friendly staff (spoke perfect English), the beef was beyond this world. We had different cuts and it was impressive. If you're a meat lover and your budget allows it, you need to check it.

They provide you with a set of chef’s recommendations, and my wife and I did a mix and match of two of the highest quality wagyu selections (I also recommend ordering the garlic rice). You cook them yourself, so make sure not to overcook anything. Each piece was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. They literally melt in your mouth. You’re seated in a private booth and they draw the curtains, so it’s very secluded. The service is outstanding, the staff is very friendly, and they also speak excellent English. HIGHLY recommend to any beef lovers.

Also recommend getting the garlic rice (one is enough for 2 people but we got a second it was so good) Book in advance if possible and get a private room. Staff were all attentive and knowledgeable. Our waitress spoke perfect English. High recommend!

They had a really good range of Matsusaka beef cuts available. Beef was superb! Special thanks to the lady who served us "Sorana", very well spoken english & she took time explaining the menu items to us. Highly recommend this place if you are willing to spend some money for great food & superb Japanese service.

Matsusaka beef: We really loved the Matsusaka Beef there the most out of all the meats we had there. Tender, great flavor, easy to chew through. Kobe beef: Good, but we came in with high expectations because of the hype that it has in the U.S. Sukiyaki: Really delicious. We forgot which type of beef it was unfortunately, but it's amazing dipped in the egg/soy sauce mixture. Organ meats: This was an adventurous order. I wanted to try something new to see if I'd like it. I absolutely hated it because I couldn't chew through any of it, even after like one minute of non-stop chewing. Never going to order this again, but maybe some people like it..? Dessert: Very interesting, light, and delicious; a perfect end to the hearty meats we'd filled up on.

The beef is perfect and they have a wide variety of cuts to satisfy any sort of craving. We were seated in a private room with a lovely view of the traditional Japanese garden. Light jazz and the hot coals made for such a cozy atmosphere on a chilly November evening. Our server, Yu, was the absolute sweetest and spoke perfect English. We would definitely return next time we're in Kyoto!
