き	きじばる潜狸 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 都心にあって珍しく自然に地下から湧き出る湧水という実にありがたい物です。このコンクリートジャングルでよくぞ…と思う反面、周りがセレブな街のせいか今一つ人工的なオブジェに見えてしまう少し汚れた自分がいます。関東大震災や太平洋戦争の空襲の時は、この水で多くの人が助かったらしいですが、良ければ体験談の一つでも書いてあればなあと思いました。以下、案内板の抜粋です。 [柳の井戸] 自然に地下から湧き出る清水である。東京の市街地では、このような泉が比較的少ないためか、古くから有名で、弘法大師が鹿島の神に祈願をこめ、手に持っていた錫杖を地面に突き立てたところ、たちまり噴出したものだとか、ある聖人が柳の枝を用いて掘った物であるとか、信仰的な伝説が語り継がれてきた。特に現在の我々としては、大正12年(1923年)の関東大震災や昭和20年(1945年)の空襲による大火災の際に、この良質な水がどれほど一般区民の困苦を救ったかを心にとどめ、保存と利用にいっそうの関心を払うべきものと思われる。 It is a very grateful spring that naturally springs from the basement, which is rare in the city center.
