城山荘（じょうざんそう）という旅館があったそうですが、殺人事件でオーナーが殺され、廃業したそうです。
現在は、各務原市が整備計画を作成し、整備し始めようと、周りの土地を確保中です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 木曽川を隔てて犬山城の対岸にある城跡です。まさに犬山城の付城といった感じですね。それにしても犬山城とこの鵜沼城はなんと対象的なことか。片や国宝。片や廃墟。尤も城山荘の建物はいつの間にか撤去されたようですが。
鵜沼城といえば、まだ秀吉が木下藤吉郎と名乗っていたころ、城主の大沢基康を調略するために、単身乗り込んだ城です。そしてそれを成功させたことによって秀吉は出世の糸口を掴んだのでした。つまり秀吉にとって鵜沼城はまさに「出世城」なのです。そのような城をいつまでも廃墟のままにしておいてよいのでしょうか？もし過去の出来事が気になるのであれば、徳の高い高僧を呼んで法要を行ってもらえばよいと思います。
おそらく鵜沼城の遺構は城山荘建設の時に破壊されてしまったと思いますが、城とまちミュージアムにある「長篠合戦図屏風」に描かれている長篠城のような戦国時代の城をここに復元してみてはいかがでしょうか？

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 城跡らしいですが登山口がよくわかりませんでした。岩肌が露出している箇所もあり荒々しい感じの城郭でしたが詳細はわからず。
