江戸時代､藩の米や鉄の回漕の特権を与えられた廻船問屋だった後藤家。
切妻屋根に本瓦·千本格子に家紋入の白壁､重厚な造りが当時の姿のまま保存されており全国でも数少ない貴重な文化遺産となっている。
明治の初期迄は北側道路に面した敷地に数多くの蔵や付属建物も残されていたが現在では母屋と一番蔵·二番蔵·味噌蔵だけが残されている。
国指定重要文化財である。

During the Edo period, the Goto family was a shipping wholesaler who was given the privilege of rowing rice and iron from the domain.
The gable roof, the main tiles, the thousand lattices, the white walls with the family crest, and the heavy structure are preserved as they were at that time, making it one of the few valuable cultural heritage sites in Japan.
Until the early Meiji era, many warehouses and ancillary buildings were left on the site facing the north road, but now only the main building and the Ichibanzo, Nibanzo, and Miso warehouses are left.
It is a nationally designated important cultural property.
