Tsutsujigaoka Park, Tenmangu Shrine, Sun Plaza, Navis Station is only a short walk from Sendai station, but the value of the use is subtle. The station is small and there is no parking.

1925年（大正14年）、仙石線の前身である宮城電気鉄道が仙台駅から西塩釜駅まで開通した際、榴ケ岡駅も同時に開業した。この時、駅の所在地は宮城郡原町であり、駅の施設は原町と仙台市の境界付近にあった。原町は1928年（昭和3年）に名取郡長町と共に仙台市に編入され、榴ケ岡駅は仙台市内の駅となった
現在の榴ケ岡駅は仙台駅から数えて一つ隣の駅であるが、1952年（昭和27年）までは仙台駅と榴ケ岡駅の間に仙台東口駅があった
Tsugaoka Station (Azalea) is a station on the East Japan Passenger Railway (JR East) Sengoku Line located at Tsujioka 5-chome, Miyagi-no-ku, Sendai-shi, Miyagi Prefecture.
When Miyagi Electric Railway, the predecessor of the Sengoku Line, opened from Sendai Station to Nishi-Shiokama Station in 1925 (Taisho 14), Shigaoka Station also opened simultaneously. At this time, the station was located at Miyagi-gunharamachi, and the station facilities were near the border between Haramachi and Sendai City. Haramachi was incorporated into Sendai City along with Natori-gun Nagamachi in 1928 (Showa 3), and Kugaoka Station became a station in Sendai City.
Currently Kasumigaoka Station is one station next to Sendai Station, but until 1952 (Showa 27) there was Sendai East Exit Station between Sendai Station and Kasumigaoka Station

昼間は1時間に4本しかなく、
デーゲームの時に利用価値は薄い。
コボスタの最寄り駅となっているが、隣の宮城野原駅の方が断然近い！
