J	J P on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing seaside hot spring. Especially for the price which is 600 yen or free if ur staying at nearby inns. Men and women's baths are sperated and you need to be butt naked. Dont forget to bring your own towel!
S	Shirley NKL on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hokkawa Onsen is famed for its public open-air bath (rotenburo), Kurone-Iwa-buro, on the edge of the Sagami-nada Sea, Shizuoka, Japan. The two mixed baths (Konyoku) are lined with rocks, with an open changing area for guys. There is a round-shaped ladies only bath with an enclosed changing area. Ladies will also be provided with a towel to wrap themselves in the Konyoku bath. For ¥600 per adult, one can enjoy the Onsen from dawn to dusk. Guys have to leave the Onsen by 19:00 hours as it will be converted to a ladies only Onsen. The Onsen closes at 21:30 hours. Whenever I am within 1 to 2 hours of driving distance from this Onsen, I will simply drop by Kurone-Iwa-buro. I love soaking in the hotspring waters, watching and listening to the crashing waves. On a clear night, I can see the moon peeping at me. :) Personally, eventhough the ladies have their own rotenburo, I prefer to use the mixed rotenburo with my partner anytime! This is my third visit and many more to come. Enjoy the Onsen amidst the crashing waves! (^.^) Psst! I was told by a Japanese, as the onsen is at the edge of the sea, the bather should be one with nature, and the correct way to enjoy the soak is to bathe in the nude. :)

N	Nut Kats on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wildest hot spring I have ever visited. And I loved it ! Now the prefecture ? Banned the mixed bathing so the male and female are separated now. Still this place makes you feel like you own the ocean . Absolutely loved it.

It has a footbath, jacuzzi, ocean front hotel and extra hot rock bath (which are both natural hot spring water), an indoor ryokan spa that is open 24 hours a day. There is a tea room, massage chairs, and our room faced the ocean. Do choose the option that includes food because there is nothing to eat nearby. Staff does not speak English.

There were a couple of outdoor hot springs with great views of the sea. Everything you would ever need was close by.

The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place if you travel to the east of Izu.

The hot springs were very impressive. The 50-min private bath was the most impressive. We can hear the waves with our window open at night.
