★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing restaurant. From the outside it does not really look like a restaurant, so you would easily walk past it if you do not know about it.
The garden and the restaurant itself looks very beautiful and from some angles in the garden you have a view of the Tokyo Tower.
The courses were very balanced and tasted amazing.
I was very satisfied with this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Exquisite place with sprawling garden and unique dishes. Truly a must dine. Renowned for the tofu dishes, with advanced order, fine meat and fish dishes can be prepared meticulously. I was very fortunate to dine there by invitation of an incredible host so our dinner was flawless. Service was warm, lovely and efficient as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My third visit to this special restaurant, an oasis steps away from the Tokyo Tower. The buildings are so nicely appointed. The service impeccable. The gardens are stunning. The flower arrangements inside also so beautiful. The tableware also very unique and enjoyable. Every detail is so nicely attended by the staff. And yes, the food is excellent. Tofu dishes are a specialty, but not the only item served.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing tofu specialist restaurant in the heart of Tokyo in a really zen and calm traditional Japanese garden setting next to Tokyo Tower.
Course menu highlighting various tofu dishes, really tasty and great plating. Would recommend for a special occasion or to have a more traditional Japanese experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a bit hesitant to put my not a “glowing 5 star best experience ever” review here because of all these highly positive ones. And the place is not bad per se. But I want to be honest and share my experience.
The location, the garden and interior are all very nice, relaxing and give you a really immersive experience into the Japanese culture.
Staff is friendly and polite, they treat you kindly and try to make your stay feel pleasant to the best of their ability.
My main qualm is about food. It’s just ordinary. Not bad, but the one more on the side of a home cooked meal. And that is not what you’re expecting for that price.
May be I’m not a tofu connoisseur, but it didn’t feel any different to me than the tofu you can get anywhere else. Other dishes were as bland as if they were all made out of tofu. May be the only thing I liked was fried tofu with onions.
To sum this up, this place just looks impressive and is good for corporate dinners, wedding parties etc. But i would not go there if you want to have a good meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good location and very beautiful Japanese garden. It is kind of perfect and particular Japanese image. Dishes are very detailed and precise layout and decoration as usual Japanese traditional restaurant. Tofu soup is so sensitive taste and base soup “Dashi” is gentle but great harmony of Tofu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An iconic foodie destination in Tokyo, right under Tokyo Tower and yet worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
Elegant private rooms with impeccable service and delectable courses. The tofu is a central ingredient but all dishes are rave worthy.
Visit during the week for lunch if you’re on a budget. Worth multiple visits to enjoy the gardens through the changing seasons.

Location is the obvious, so let’s not even go there ? but hospitality, ambiance, quality and the overall experience… spot on!
If i had to pick only one dish here… 田楽 it is, for the 懐かしい part and the simplicity that makes this dish irresistible (hands up if you are a tofu lover!)
But it doesn’t mean that I didn’t enjoy the 黒毛和牛炭火焼き to the absolute max, especially when paired with wasabi and the restaurant’s homemade 日本酒.
Go see and try it yourself, you might like it too (you’d better ?)
