この外観はお寺っぽいな、と思って調べてみたら神仏習合時は「大御輪寺」の本堂だったようですね。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ JR三輪駅から昭和のレトロな商店街を歩き大神神社のニの鳥居まで15分。その鳥居の左側に土産店と和食の店がある道を100米行くと突き当りに大神神社の摂社の若宮社がありました。まず、目につくのは古事記の伝説に由来するという「おだまき杉」の大きな古株。それと、優雅な尻尾をもつ鳥居の両脇の狛犬です。自然に囲まれた本殿は大神神社の拝殿に比べればとても、とても、小さくシンプルで美しいです。境内は林がありその中に火難除けの琴平社とか安産祈願の岩が祀らていました。祭神は、大直禰子（おおたたねこ）を祀らています。また、大直禰子命が大物主大神（大神神社主祭神）の子孫であるから若宮社とよばれているようです。
