★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous shrine. I was lucky enough to come with a japanese friend, which made it possible for me to climb the sacred mountain (they will not let you if you can't understand instructions in Japanese). Absolutely gorgeous and magical place

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! Bigger than expected. Several free parking lots near the GIANT Tori on the main road. Little cafe near there has cheap lunch on Thursday’s. Lots of little shops and yattai on the 7min walk to the main entrance. Busses pull right up to the main entrance. There’s also a small train station between the parking and shrine. They aren’t signing goshuin cho due to corona... that was sad because now my inchinomiya book has a glued entry. Western toilets, lots of charms. Some cool giant trees near the top. And some top-less Tori gates at the top near the shrine too. They set up a cool covid hand washing/purifying station too. Overall beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shrine in the forest. Reminds me a bit of Ise or Izumo shrine. Not bad at all. We met an old lady on the train there and thought she'd talk to us for the whole time but in the end she didn't so kind of doged a bullet there. Nice lady tho very welcoming. Life is all about these little moments and exchanges.
