A museum of the late oil painting by Soichiro Tomioka, who grew up in Muikamachi at the foot of Mt. Hakkai. Mr. Tomioka has developed a white material that does not easily deteriorate over time. That is "Tomioka White". A painting style in which white is painted on the canvas and is then scraped off with a painting knife. As you look at the exhibits, you can see that the style changes slightly from the early years to the later years. Although it is not a very large museum, it has only one hall, but at a leisurely time, I had a good time to catch a glimpse of the life of a man who fell in love with the white world such as snow.
