Such a beautiful street to visit. If you get there early enough, then you can enjoy it all to yourself!

This Bell Tower is located a short walk down an alley (Kurazukuri St), off the main Kawagoe road. The Bell chimes 4 times a day to signify the hour, hence it's name of 'Toki no Kane' meaning Bell of Time. This bell tower is actually a rebuilt as the original (like most ancient wooden buildings in japan) was burnt down in 1893 (Edo period). There is a small shrine located at the rear of the property. As you walk under the tower, look up and be amazed at the construction of this wooden tower. If you happen to visit Kawagoe in Spring, look for the small Red/Pink Sakura tree at the back of this property. It is one of the rare few Red/pink varieties I have seen.

There was an on going event at that time so it was really quite a crowded place. (October 20-21 3018) It is a good tourist spot and the weather now is great. We went there from Ikebukuro station riding the Tobu Tojo line And then by bus number 1 Be very careful though of the bus stops because from our experience, we got quite confused of the bus number and bus stop where to ride and ended up a little further from the event place. It would be better to go there probably on a normal day, maybe a weekday would be best. Start early in the morning to be able to maximise the most of the town. I would advise walking from Kawagoe station to the City Town Hall in order to get the most of the view of this little town. It is a 25 minute walk though. During the festival, we noticed that most of the shops sells sweet potatoes, fried and garnished with sesame seeds. The old houses are really pretty and kept us wondering how do they maintain it knowing that most of the materials of old houses might be phased out. There are little shops all over the place where you could buy souvenirs. Kawagoe Starbucks is another attraction to this place.

Quaint little old town called Little Edo, Kawagoe. Must visit if you like old architecture. Get to the JR Kawagoe station and switch to the tourist bus where you pay 500 yen to hop on and off at various sight seeing places.

Kawagoe a former merchants town preserved. Many Edo style wooden buildings have been maintained n presently used as museums, shops, traders, restaurants etc. A nice area to explore as there are many interesting sights- the tower Toki no kane, the museum, Sweet Street (traditional sweets manufacturers), traditional toys n snacks, souvenirs n handicrafts. It’s only a short ride 35-40 minutes from Tokyo n well worth the visit. Many locals also visit this district n on weekends it can get crowded. Many nice restaurants for a great meal - Unagi n Beef too! Prices are average for a tourist type area. Expect to spend 2-3 hours here for an interesting walk into the past!

Located in Kawagoe, in a small area where you can feel a different atmosphere of old city. Only like one hour from Tokyo. Oh... Don't forget to buy a tourist pass/package which will make you pay cheaper (train, bus) than a common price. Many snacks/candy store here. And also you can visit a new starbuck store with it's unique building and a nice small garden.

A 400 years clock tower rebuilt 4 times (last was about 200yrs ago after it was destroyed by fire. If you want a photo view, suggest visiting this place on weekdays coz weekends, the crowd is crazy. Howevercthere is a trade off. That's you have more shops open for business on weekends. You make your choice ya???....

Grand Tower provided blue sky, it is a best spot for Photography. The temple inside is small and nothing else. You could find small Inari deities thats all. It is situated inside that street where you could find old traditional japanese city
