ツタの絡まる土壁や、増築した部屋など往年のままではないが、代々の家主の暮らしぶりが想像できる。
無料だし、ボランティアの方の説明もあります。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 県内で唯一残る江戸時代の武家屋敷。明治から昭和まで増築されているものの、周囲が宅地やマンションになっている中で、そこだけタイムスリップしたかのような古式ゆかしい風情が堪能できる。蔵造りの町並みから喜多院に抜ける途中で無料で見学できるのでおすすめ。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 増築部分が多すぎて、昭和前期の市街地住宅でした。カヤ、ケヤキなど、今の宅地には難しい木があり、それがただの住宅の雰囲気を変えてくれていたという感想です。「切腹の間」とは。。。（怖）

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 川越市に残る武家屋敷、とのことですが、私が訪れた際は入口は閉まっており内部見学は出来ませんでした。ぱっと見かなり荒れていて手入れが行き届いているかな、という印象で、あまり武家屋敷感は感じなかったですね。
It is said that the samurai residence remains in Kawagoe City, but when I visited, the entrance was closed and I could not visit the inside. At first glance, I had the impression that it was quite rough and well-maintained, so I didn't feel that it was a samurai residence.

ツキイチ土曜公開が毎週土曜公開に成るそうです。

住宅として残したいのか武家屋敷として残したいのか、いつの時代を再現したいのか曖昧な事が原因かと。
時代をまたがり生きてきた住まいをどうやって残すのか難しい判断かと思います。
もともとは武家屋敷でも増改築の結果、残念ながら建物自体がもはや凛としていないので、、、
