The homepage is designed in a clean and easy to navigate way and the ordering process is as easy as can be. The information about the teas on the site is helpful for people like me, who are not tea-experts. I was able to easily chose teas which match my tastes. It is also nice that the covered price-range is pretty wide! I really liked the additional wrapping service: it had a very authentic Japanese vibe (packaging method and patterns) to it and was definitely chosen to fit the season (Christmas), so I was able to gift some of the items directly forward. And it was very helpful that the packages were labelled to make sure I could still distinguish the contents within! I appreciate that kind of thoughtfulness and care and will definitely buy there again! If the gift-wrapping comes as a selectable service to the site in the future, I won't hesitate to use it! Thank you for accommodating to my extra requests so professionally! I also loved the accompanying sweets - not that I needed any more convincing! The grading of the matcha is fantastically accurate; with No. 1 having almost no bitterness, a vibrant bright green colour, pleasant, sweet matcha aroma, and a full-bodied complex and creamy flavour suitable for the thickest preparations. No. 2 is also without the bitterness and has the same inviting aroma and bright green colour but its complex flavours and creaminess is certainly less pronounced. As you go down the numbers, the bitterness obviously increases but the colour and taste remain satisfying and each grade serves its purpose. For thick preparations with nothing but water No.1 and 2 works well; for thinner preparations with only water No. 3 and 4 work well. By the time you try No. 6, I personally feel it goes well as a base for lightly sweetened / milky matcha drinks, and No. 9 reserved for culinary uses. Made some delicious drinks with the hojicha powder, and delicious cups of tea with the loose leaf genmaicha!

The order came fast (within 1.5 weeks) and in perfect condition, with wonderful and careful packaging. The tea: Tobi-en was one of the few providers online with a reasonable price, tea from the same year harvest (2021), and good quality! It was either difficult or expensive to find fresh harvest on other websites (even in Japan - Ito-En, Ippodo). Non-Japan providers of Japanese tea are maybe faster or cheaper (I tried Sunday Natural), but certainly not as good quality... The service: the Tobi-en team contacted me personally by email to ensure everything is alright with the order. It is a small business, supporting the local Uji farmers. I am very happy to support them and lucky to be able to order such good, fresh, and well priced tea!!!

The Miyabi is very special, very tasteful, and with body. Sweet matcha it's good too, ideal for a beginner, and very good for cooking. The most amazing things it's their care for the customer. They will send you even the instructions for make a good tea, and a real nice letter. I hope to visit his shop to see 500 years of history and drink there a real good matcha.

What can I say about the tea, since when it was still closed it produced a natural and fresh scent of matcha's tea leaves I've never felt from others, the color, the taste and flavour are intense and rich. From now on I will always buy my matcha from Tobi-EN. Now I'm gonna enjoy my tea again ?
