I went to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Tradition Center operated by the Fukushima Innovation Coast Initiative Promotion Organization in Futaba Town. The Futaba Town Industrial Exchange Center and Fukushima Prefecture Reconstruction Memorial Park are also nearby. You can see the terribleness of the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake. First, you will receive a video explanation of the occurrence of disasters from the past on a large screen, and you can see the fear of disasters, earthquakes, and tsunamis by exhibiting various booths. You can see how difficult it is to evacuate from your hometown due to the subsequent nuclear disaster, and even 10 years after the disaster, you still cannot return. The last photo on display after the earthquake and tsunami made me cry. If you come to Fukushima, I would like you to stop by. You can learn more about the nuclear disaster by looking at it together with the TEPCO Decommissioning Museum in Tomioka Town. There is also the earthquake disaster remains Namie Municipal Ukedo Elementary School nearby. The Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Tradition Center has an admission fee of 600 yen for adults and 300 yen for elementary, junior high and high school students.

"Experience from that day, lessons for the future" An unprecedented compound disaster has claimed many lives and has changed the lives of many people. This tragic disaster and accident is by no means a stranger. You can re-enter the building only on the day of use. "Please show the purchased ticket to the receptionist when you re-enter." I watched the exhibits in 3 hours from 9 am. After that, I temporarily left the building at 12 o'clock, enjoyed the local cuisine at the industrial exchange center next door, and re-entered the 13:30 talk session. The view of the sea terrace in the afternoon was also beautiful.

Many exhibits and videos will bring back the horror of the time of the earthquake. It is wonderful to make an effort to pass on memories and records to posterity. You can hear the story of the local storyteller, and even if there are houses left around Soma City, you can not return, you can not cultivate farmland, you are assigned an alternative land, and the coastline is said to have three rows of embankments with a height of 6 m. .. It took me two hours to get around quickly. I drove around the area, but there were a lot of mega solar panels and it was still untouched.

"Exhibition of photos of residents who need a handkerchief" "Exhibition that shows the state inside the decommissioning concretely" "Contents that convey that it is a man-made disaster" Along with the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and the Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum, it is one of the must-visit museums. The suffering and sadness of the disaster area are displayed in an easy-to-understand manner, and it may be difficult to see the photographs of the residents without a handkerchief. The exhibits include the history of the nuclear accident, the situation inside the nuclear power plant, the difficulty of evacuation, support from foreign countries, and reconstruction projects. An explanation of the Chernobyl nuclear accident and paintings of support from Ukrainian children are also on display. There is a souvenir shop and a food court in the adjacent administrative facility. We recommend the famous Namie Yakisoba. [Fee] 600 yen [Meals] Located in an adjacent facility [Toilet] Cleanliness [Free parking lot] Large enough #letsguide #letsguide

Good exhibition in vast property near oceanfront. How about the local residents who still endure prohibition of returning homes?

I visited this newly built and opened museum by train. Futaba Station is the nearest station. I took a free shuttle bus from the station. Same thing when I returned to the station from the museum. There was only me from the station, a little bit scary. Most of the visitors went there by private vehicles. I entered the museum 12.15. After watching a brief video, visitors then can walk through the exhibitions. Taking photos and videos is prohibited. There is coin locker provided, so don't worry if you bring small luggage or bags, because there's no locker available at the station (cmiiw, since I left the station asap, and didn't see any lockers, because there's no one, and I was scare ?). Back to the museum. I paid ¥600 from a ticket vending machine. I like what this museum exhibits. We can learn from the tsunami and nuclear disaster. I became understand how severe this catastrophic event. The following long term evacuation must be really hard. I love the Mirai no Machi part.

I visited in 2020, just a few months after it opened and I rented a car because public transportation was not convenient. Though the front-desk staff did not speak English, they were all very friendly and got me a tablet so that I could understand the exhibits more thoroughly than my intermediate Japanese would otherwise have allowed. It was an informative and sobering experience and I enjoyed some shopping and lunch in the local stores afterwards.
