C	Chris Petrie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to try sake and drink local beer. Sake and beer also for sale, right next to the brewery. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. Some speak excellent English. There is also an art museum upstairs that should not be missed.

Both the beer and sake is delicious and you can taste their sake range at the bar. You can buy both beer and sake and there's also merchandise for sale and a small museum of local art upstairs, which is also worth a visit.

They have a couple of their beers on draft, but it is not a pub/bar atmosphere and not really a comfortable place to drink a beer. Very good beers though (some of the best in Japan). Look for the Shiga Kogen bottled beers in the stores nearby. All are high quality.
B	Ben Leith on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worth a stop to see the small art gallery, brewery and do some sake tasting. The ‘bar’ room didn’t really have a bar vibe so it’s not the kind of place you’d spend an evening but the visit was a good excuse for a walk from our Ryokan.

Many kinds of sake available for free testing, and there are English information sheets to explain the differences in raw material or brewing method of each type of sake. Beer is also available on tap. Price of the liquor is reasonable, and sake is sold in 300ml/720ml/1800ml bottles. You can buy some interesting beer glasses. Level 2 is a small art gallery with interesting exhibits

n	ninja crypto on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best sake & craftbeer brewery in Japan. You can try sake from bottle or beer from tap (of course they're in good condition locally!!) then buy them. It's quite far from city, but worth visiting. Cash only.

They offer two beer on tap which you need to pay and a self serving sake tasting. There is also a gallery upstairs. The lady was able to speak English and extremely helpful. We ended buying a few bottles of sake and beer.
